freezing cheese -- is it ok or not?

i bought a pound block of sharp cheddar cheese. it is to much to eat all at once. question: is it ok to cut into sections and freeze till i want to eat it or will go bad/mushy funny/unedible. thanks for your help and give experience please

    Yes, chz freezes nicely. Wrap airtightly and stick in freezer zip bag. Thaw in fridge. Cut into manageable chunks so some can stay frozen while you're eating on a smaller chunk.

    I do on site cooking and I buy in bulk ...I freeze cheese all the time...I havent noted any change in texture....you might want to grate some of it..if you use it in cooking .you can take out what you need and it thaws quickly.

    i freeze shredded mozzarella, its fine

    make sure you shred it first, otherwise itll crumble once it defrosts
