Breastfeeding advice?
My son is 10 days old, and seems to be nursing more often than every 2 hours today....is this alright? Does this mean I am not producing enough milk? Id like to breastfeed exclusively - is there any way to get my milk supply up?

He won't always eat every 2, 3, 4, etc. hours. Some days he'll eat more frequently and some days he'll go longer. That does not mean you are not producing enough for him, so don't think that. He's still quite young so eating even every hour would be normal for him. Keep nursing on demand as this will help build up your supply.

Totally normal--It means he's probably going through growth spurt. His nursing more frequently will bring in more milk naturally...babies are the best at bringing in and keeping up a milk supply.

He's likely going through a growth spurt, his more frequent nursing will cause your milk supply to increase because he's demanding more.

Keep nursing him and your supply will adjust. You just need to trust your body. He is probably going through a growth spurt. It is completely normal for young babies to go through times when it seems like they need to nurse constantly. Make sure you are well hydrated.
Good luck and keep up the good work.

Its perfectly fine. The more you nurse the more milk you will produce. Make sure your son is actually drinking though. Some babies get into the habit of using your nipple as a pacifier. If he is truly hungry then feed him!

Totally normal, my wee one was like that, some days it felt like all I was doing was feeding him!! It could be a growth spurt. Breast milk is more easily digested and done so quicker too so that's why your wee guy needs it so often, the more you feed the more you'll start to produce:)

this is called cluster feeding. this helps build your milk supply and when your baby is cluster feeding it tells your body to produce more milk . when he isnt cluster feeding you can pump every two to three hours to keep your supply up. he will cluster feed during growth spurts too at about 6 weeks and three months.
