Legally, it might be objectionable. Ethically, I think it is fine.

If it is not illegal in the other states then I would say that it is your decision. I completely understand why you would want her in the front, I drove back home - a 14 hour trip - when my daughter was just 5 months old...talk about wanting to poke your eyes out!!! I am not sure if I would do it because she is older and even though the air bag would be off she is still facing forward so if the windshield broke into the truck it could severly injure her...among other things that could come into the front of the cab. Sorry, I know my answer is probably not what you wanted to hear! Good luck.Is there anyway you can put something beside her like a little table to hold her snacks, drink, and/or toys? Also if you have a portable dvd player those are amazing! :)

They make it illegal for a reason. Please be careful. I know you'll do what you feel is best for your sweet girl but experts studied these things and have reasons for making these laws. I guess turning off your air bag would be okay but I think it's also more dangerous to have a little kid in the front seat because of the windshield too. I'm not sure about that but I hope you and your sweetie get to your distination safely. 450 miles is a long way to go.

I wouldn't reccomend driving with her in the front seat...for her saftey. If you were to get into an accident she could be put in serious harm, at least being in the back middle seat would protect her somewhat from a side crash or front crash. You wouldn't want something terrible to happen that could have been prevented. It is illegal for a very good reason. If you need to attend to her pull over. Two extra minutes out of your trip is worth her safety I personally think. Good luck on the drive and PLEASE put her in the back seat!!

It is never safe for the baby to be up front, but it is better than you having to reach back to tend to her while driving. That would be much more dangerous (in my oppinion) as it would increase the liklihood of a wreck. Drive safe and have a good trip with your Mom. It is COLD down here in FL right now! lol. No recent beach trips for me.

simply leave her in the back for the first 10 miles until you get to the next state then put her in the front with you :)

Why don't you put her in the back until you reach a state that it is legal to have her in the front? You need to avoid a ticket.

I would say there's a reason it illegal. Its probably for safety reasons are you really willing to risk it? I would say still put her in the back and just pull over at certain areas to relax and such.

How about drive with her in the back until it's legal? You're going to want to take a rest stop, anyway.

put her in the back until you get out of your state. then stop at service station and change her over.

place her in the back for those 10 miles, pull over after you cross the line and bring her next to mama for the rest of the ride ;D
