I think they should have a prayer session first.

The pledge of allegiance is the only thing needed to encourage civic pride!
Teachers like Mr Laswell - Red Skelton's grade school teacher, should be the one conducting the pledge of allegiance. Please, Please if you have never seen Red Skelton recite the pledge of allegiance, do yourself a favor and have a listen. I promose you will not be disappointed.

No, just take a look at countries who make their children do this especially China. Apart from all that, we have taken away too much of their childhood already - leave them to be children.
BTW - there are other ways to encourage civic pride that are apprpriate for children.

Should they sing songs about Bush? I'm sure the liberals who don't mind kids being taught songs praising Obama (and how much more fascist can you get?) would think twice.
Our children should be singing songs praising the United States and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. They should not be singing songs praising any living political leader.

No. They should sing songs about their country to encourage pride, I wonder how many of them know the words to The Star Spangled Banner ? They should start there.

Children in public schools did not sing songs about any previous president so I think no. Pledge of allegiance is enough.

No they shouldn't. Kids should not be forced to sing songs to any political leader in a democracy. I think you need to move to North Korea, because based on your postings it appears you will fit right in.

No. Religion and one-sided politics have no place in our schools. We send our children to school to learn the basics...college, fine...mandatory public school...NO.
