No.
You will only see programmes in HD if you have cable, satellite or Freesat.
If you just get your TV through an aerial, all the programmes you see will be in standard definition.

Yes if the channels is in HD format then you will se in HD Quality. You should have a HD TV and HD Satellite Receiver. There are some of HD channels available in satellites some are free and mostly are paid you have to pay for maximum HD channels.

hd ready only means that you have the capability of putting a 720 or 1080 signal into the tv.from a cable box or something like it.just because it says hd at the bottom of the program does not mean you are watching it in hd.and most of the time an hd ready set youll have to put the cable box (or whatever) into one of the component inputs or hdmi inputs or the older dvi connection.hope this helps

Only a few hd channels free at present via freesat.
Most on BBC.
Not much help for Hollyoaks.
You could pay for Sky but the quality is not as good as Freesat.
In fact only marginally better (I have both)

Yes - I watch quite a lot of BBC1 stuff on hd. Only a few channels broadcast it though - BBC1 being one.
