How do colleges stack ACT scores?

I am trying to get a college scholarship. I am one point away from the required ACT composite score to get the scholarship & I have the GPA. I have taken the ACT multiple times and while my latest score is the highest, one of my past English test scores is higher. How do college's stack scores? The college I am looking into attending will stack scores only for awarding scholarships.

Are sub-scores for individual subjects taken into consideration for stacking?

Again, its college dependent- some do, some dont- you should check with the college financial aid office. Most dont though.

You're in the same boat I was when I graduated from high school I was in an honors society and all, but my ACT was only 17. The solution? I went to a community college, got a 3.9GPA and now I can go to any 4-year college or university I want. Once you get that "transfer student" title, you can take your credits and GPA wherever you go - they no longer care about ACT. In my state (TN), most classes transfer from school to school, so I was able to take ALL of my classes at a local community college besides my core business courses and went in as a junior to my first choice 4-year college.
