Computer motherboard problem?

Alright, so I purchased a cpu fan, which I had to remove the motherboard in order to install. After all the hassle of unplugging and replugging everything, I was successfully able to install the fan. However now my computer doesn't load anything when I turn it on; it simply gives me a blank screen. I had popped out the processor chip to look at when I took the motherboard out if that makes a difference. After it stopped working, I took the fan off, and then tried to turn it on, but this time it gave me a blank screen and then started to beep. I need to know whether or not I killed my motherboard or something else so I can get it replaced asap. thanks.

If it beeped then probably it's OK. Check if everything is well connected, especially the video card. Check for the Beep Codes for your motherboard, that should help you to identify the error.

    Are the fans running?

Also never turn your computer on if the processor has no fan, you could fry it (but probably not).
