  • How do I start paying taxes in the US?

So a bit of background: Both of my parents are Japanese, but was born in the US, so I have dual citizenship between Japan and the US. I stayed in the US until high school, and moved to Japan for university and have stayed there since.

After university I went straight to work at a Japanese company, and after a year, I switched to different foreign company. So i've only been working for two years, and at no point has my salary been over 50,000 USD.

    Now for the main topic.

I've recently been informed that I should be reporting my income to the US and also should be paying US income taxes. Because I've never worked in the US (and because they don't teach you this stuff in school), i'm very out of touch with US tax laws so I haven't been paying, or reporting, anything to the US since i've moved to Japan.

So i'm in need of advice on what to do and where to start, and how much taxes generally cost and the penalties of not paying in terms of USD.

    I'm basically completely lost.

I'd appreciate any information you could give me.

    thanks in advance.

  • Replacing processor, any software changes needed?

I've replaced my mobo and processor at once, but never just the processor itself. I know the specs of what fits and what doesn't and all, but I was wondering if there are any software upgrades/adjustments (ie messing with the bios) that go along with replacing a processor. I'm hoping I just pop it in and go, but that seems a bit too easy. Thanks for the help.

  • motherboard replaced, winxp repair fail?

I successfully replaced my motherboard today, but I can't seem to get windows xp running correctly. I want to save my files from my hard drive so I used the repair tool when I booted from the winxp cd. Once it's done repairing it reboots, goes to the windows loading screen, and then gives me the bsod and restarts. I can't see the error number because it goes so fast. My friend suggested that I either get a new hard drive to install a clean copy of xp onto, or create a new partition in my hdd. I want to try the partition since I don't want to have to dish out more cash. Can some one help me make a new partition, or if they have any different ideas I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Computer motherboard problem?

Alright, so I purchased a cpu fan, which I had to remove the motherboard in order to install. After all the hassle of unplugging and replugging everything, I was successfully able to install the fan. However now my computer doesn't load anything when I turn it on; it simply gives me a blank screen. I had popped out the processor chip to look at when I took the motherboard out if that makes a difference. After it stopped working, I took the fan off, and then tried to turn it on, but this time it gave me a blank screen and then started to beep. I need to know whether or not I killed my motherboard or something else so I can get it replaced asap. thanks.

  • Anyone have this vista problem?

Ok, I'm having major issues with the administrative privileges on vista at the moment. To start off, it's not the simple Run as Admin "issue". The problem is that there is only one user account which is the owner/admin (I quadruple checked), but has no admin privileges. I've tried Trend virus scan, which I don't fully trust. I downloaded a copy of Mcafee (since I had 1 subscription left of the 3 it comes with) but didn't have admin rights to install it. I can't click/run anything with the 4 colored shield icon (admin icon) next to it, so no creating new accounts on the computer, changing admin privileges, admin cmd, etc. Any help? I'm betting that it's a virus...

  • MS paint copy & paste issue?

When I copy a picture from one ms paint window I have open and paste it into another, it changes the color. Specifically, it turns a bright purple color into a faded pink. Both the files are the same format. Any one know how to fix this? Thanks.

  • Can't connect to LAN?

I bought a nvidia verto graphics card and put it in my comp, reformatted my comp with the windows xp cd (it was becoming slow), and then found that i couldn't connect to the internet. I'm not sure if it was the graphics card that is causing the problem, but I can't find the lan icon. The only icon i see in Network Connections is 139 Connection. Under my device manager I have 3 yellow questionmarks: ethernet controller, pci device, and pci simple communications controller, all of which I cannot install because of my lack of internet connection. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  • My theory on religious truths?

So I've thought a great deal on religion and it's effects and it's multiple, yet contradicting "truths." And I've come up with a theory that seems legitimate. My theory is that a person's religious belief is that person's truth, and no universal truth can ever be obtained.

My point may be that no matter how much you argue and try to convert some one, that person's belief is their truth and the only person that can change that truth is themselves.

  • World of Warcraft BSOD X(?

Ok, I've gotten tired of free mmos so I thought about starting a p2p like WoW. So I downloaded the 10 day free trial and tried it out. It worked fine for around 10 min or so but then it crashed on me and I got the blue screen of death. The Blizzard wow site says that my graphics card, an Intel GMA 3100, is supported and my computer has 4 gigs of ram so I thought it would run WoW fine, but it doesn't X( So does anyone know what the issue is?

  • Christians, do you guys....?

...hate Pokemon because they evolve? Besides it being funny, I was actually curious. It does seem a little against creationism, but what do you guys think? Do you, or did you, guys play Pokemon or let your kids play?

  • Blue screen of death?

I recently upgraded my 8 year old Dell Inspiron 4100 with a 512 Ram card. So right now it has 1 gig of ram. But I get the blue screen of death pretty frequently now. It might be the windows update that the computer went through the day before yesterday when I tried to shut down. It suggested that I try the Dell driver reset tool, but it didn't help. So any one have suggestions?

  • dolphins going to hell?

So apparently dolphins and humans are the only animals on the planet that have sex for pleasure. Are dolphins going to hell too? I thought it would be interesting to go to hell and find it full of dolphins. Assuming hell existed.

  • Clannad game?

Yeah, i figured the gaming section would be a bad place to ask about a game like Clannad. Seemed to be more in the anime genre. So anyone know where I could download the Clannad game? or any other Key visual as a matter of fact. Preferably in jp and preferably not in torrent. But if its eng torrent its ok. I watched the anime Clannad so i figured id play the game too.
