Eggnog: alcohol taste without the alcohol?
I'm making a large batch of eggnog for a New Year's Eve party, and want to make a smaller one for those who don't drink. What can I include in the nonalcoholic bowl that will approximate the taste of the alcohol in the larger bowls? (I use bourbon and a smaller amount of dark rum, but anything will do.) Maybe something like almond extract or something similar--but that's just a guess. On the other hand, am I painting the lily? Would just the milk, cream, eggs and so on taste just fine by themselves? Thanks.

Eggnog minus the alcohol tastes just fine too, but if you want the flavour you can always add some rum extract too. It's not as good as actual rum, so use a bit at a time and keep tasting! Good luck and Happy New Year!

Eggnog without the alcohol is VERY good. Of course the alcoholic eggnog is gonna be better though...For those who don't drink, just give them some eggnog with some cinnamon and nutmeg on top, and they'll be happy.

they have liquor flavoring that is non-alcoholic. im not sure where you would find it in the grocery store.
you can just omit the liquor all together though. the alcohol in egg nog inst in there for flavor, as much as it is to get drunk.
