If 4 adults are going to Disney World, do we really need to reserve dinning plans?

Update:

I am going last week of January 2010 and first week of Feburary. Which is slow I believe. I am staying at the budget all star resorts

For any sit-down/character meals, yes, you MUST have reservations. This is because Disney has had the dining plan the past few years, and it has proved to be extremely popular. Lots of places won't even put you on a stand-by list anymore, they will just tell you they are full. If you want to stick to (cheaper) counter-service restaurants (where you walk up and place your order, and pick up your own food, no waiter), then you don't need reservations. But if you want to do any sit-down, full-service meals, then yep!

Kind of stinks if you aren't a super-planner.

That depends on what you're wanting to eat. There are SEVERAL walk-up counters in each park where reservations are not necessary or accepted. However, if you want what is termed as a "sit-down" meal, then, yes, you will definitely need to make reservations. This can be done up to 90 days in advance. A good comparison might be: do you want to eat McDonald's the whole time, or would you prefer to go to an Outback?

um yeah you would still want to make dining reservations. i don't see why you think it makes a difference that you are all adults. whether its 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults thats still 4 butts that need a seat in a restaurant.

true the last week in jan and the first week in feb is a slow time but restaurants will still fill up and if you don't make reservations you may not get in.

Yes, dining reservations are necessary. If you don't plan ahead, you could have a very long wait, or not get in at all. The dining places at Disney are great, & people make reservations far in advance to make sure they get in. Have Fun!

I would really recommend it. Otherwise u will be stuck with whatever you get. It also depends on when you are going. During busy months you have to have a reservation, otherwise you are going to eat at cafeteria like restaurants for each meal. Decide which park you are going to be at each day and make reservations for a restaurant in that park. There are some really good ones. Spoodles is good, not in a park though.

If you are interested in eating at the sit down restaurants it is really important to make reservations in advance. At least a month in advance if possible. You will find it impossible to get a table any other way.

do you think 4 adults have a pass to just walk into any resturant before anyone else and get a seat? no they cannot...unless you want to be waiting for a while not knowing if your gonna eat or not then obviously do it. why wouldnt you? its only a phone call away.

Yes, i would say you probably should. If you are planning on goin to some fancy or more formal restraunts, they book up fast. So, dont expect to be able to just walk in and get a reservation. i would definatly reccomend it. All restraunts in disney book quick. so book now!!!

i think u shuld, it saved my mom over $400 on food, my neighbor went and he said they spend over $200 on breakfast alone for 1 day...its not that much. for the quick service plan its about $31.99 a night per person, that could be 1 lunch. or the regular 1 is $41.99 a night per person, thats a value because the good restaraunts are like $60
