2 week old wine...will it kill me?
I had a Christmas party 2 weeks ago and someone left a pretty big bottle of white wine in my fridge. It had well over half the bottle left and was corked back very tightly. I tried some a little while ago and it tasted "sort-of" good, but is not my usual type or brand so I can't tell if it's supposed to taste that way. Is it still good? Will I die a horrible, painful death?

It will be safe to drink, the only problem could be the taste.
You say it's "sort of" good, so I'm guessing it has a slight metallic taste to it.
This is fine, if you can stand the taste, it is just natural oxidation of the wine.
PS: I notice we have quite a few people who know nothing about wine answering.
YES, some wine is aged for years before reaching its peak, but that is anerobic (with out air) ageing, once a wine is opened it starts to oxidise due to coming into contact with the air.
This is irreversible, but can be slowed by, as you have with your wine, keeping the wine sealed, and in a cool environment (using a wine saver vaccum pump increases shelf life on opened wine considerably).

Your not going to die...Wine is usually "aged" before its even sold anyway. I dont see why a tightly corked bottle of wine is any different.
But if you dont like how it tastes then dont drink it.

Haha no you won't die. It takes a couple years for wine to be old .I think the older the wine the bette it taste.

No you won't die. I've drank wine that has been in my refrigerator over a month

It is good. If it were a screw top then I'd be a little concerned. You wouldn't necessarily DIE, but it would taste very much like vinegar.

No, you will not.
I was at the party and tried it, and it was fine then. If it was kept refrigerated and corked, it's perfectly safe.

We're talking close to New Year's here. Desperate times call for desparate measures.

you'll be fine.
Wine turns to vinegar when it goes bad--did it taste like vinegar--if not...you're golden.
