How to Breed the pigeons???

breeding pigeons is just like breeding doves, here are some easy steps, to breeding them:

1. buy a pair of pigeons

2. buy or even make a nest for the them like these (picture)

3. put a little bit of nesting material in the nest, for them too start with

4. add material such as:

- dried grasses

- and other soft materials

to make the nest warmer for the chicks.

5. once they have mated, the eggs will be laid, soon after 10 days

6. the eggs will hatch after about 18 days

7. babies fledge at about 35 days.

Why would people answer a question the know nothing about?

If the birds are in a loft with nest boxes and straw, lots of food, veggies, oyster shell grit and clean water and are one female and one male - they will breed. I have 2 new babies - about 5 weeks old. I bought the parents and a week later they layed 2 eggs. I am happy to have these gentle and pretty (white and red) birds in my life.

What happens is your pigeon gets sick from all the diseases and parasites carried and spread by the wild pigeon, and the wild pigeon will be scared out of its mind from being caught and held prisoner by what it sees as nothing more than a predator. The birds could die from these problems, and that is not a risk worth taking.
