I recently got a Foxconn P9657AA-8KS2H mainboard.

Unlike most boards, its JMicron JMB361 IDE controller is just SINGLE channel. If I connect an IDE HDD on it (jumper=Master), it is recognized in BIOS as a bootable device. However, if I connect instead a CD or a DVD drive, it is not recognized as a bootable device. Tried Master or Slave setting, same result.
When booting from a SATA HDD, the non-bootable DVD drive works normally within Win XP.
Is this typical of the JMB361 IDE controller? My next option would just be to install a SATA DVD.
