Question

The Eve

At the threshold of a decade
we face the mirrored images of yesterday...
Shadows creep within shadows
cut mortally by the flashbulbs of what has gone
From fear of a computer crash
to the real fear of airplanes and twins burning...
we find the carcass of peace shattered by an I.E.D.

An economy tanked by greed in a world
plagued by flu and viruses... some question
a Sovereign God
Yet with all that has happened in storms
named after women
Waves with Japanese names and the ignored
genocide in Darfur... mankind still fails to question its
choices....

And this is just the eve....

Good morning, Koye.  I like Evelyn's response the your poem.  When I read this it brought back memories of a song in the '60's "Eve of Destruction" by Barry Maguire (I think).   I, too, am concerned, and worried, about all the problems in the world.  It is truly a troubling time.  I pray God will help us solve these problems and at some point we will be blessed with peace.

I Hope Your New Year is filled with Peace & Happiness.
