Lost Operating System?
while trying to reinstall a clean copy of Windows XP Pro (due to a virus) twice the system froze at about 12% but the third time it got all the way to about 52%, then died. now i cannot get anything except a message that says "Error loading operating system" and although I have the original OS disks, they will not load the OS any further. is there some program on the internet that will fix this? HELP
PS: i have changed boot order as well to Cd/DVD first still won't read the disk

You reformatted and lost your OS. Then you tried to install Windows, which didnt install all the way. Then you tried to boot from the harddrive on which Windows wasn't installed all the way...
Try booting from disk, you may have to get into the BIOS and change the boot priority order. Then fully install the OS, and THEN load from the harddrive.

The MBR is in all probability corrupt, you are able to attempt doing a startup restoration with the Vista CD, yet whilst that would not artwork, you need to use the Ubuntu disk to lower back up each thing to an exterior complicated force and reinstall Vista.

When you boot the disc make sure you have it delete the current partition, then have it partition it to NTSF, when it finishes it will create a clean install of your windows operating system.
