WDYT of this name I saw yesterday?

Silke

It's German and pronounced ZIL-kuh. It also means 'silk' in Swedish. Thoughts? Pairings? Ever seen it before?

    Very unusual, but I like.

    I've never seen it.

I think it'd take me a while to get used to, but its

really nice if you think about it.

Probably not a name I'd use because I'm not brave enough but

I'd choose a more common middle name so that it'd sound nice.

    How about:

    Silke Isabelle

    Silke Renee

    Silke Estelle

    Silke Natalie

    Silke Scarlett

    Silke Sophia

    Silke Eloise

    (:

It's sounds kinda pretty actually, but it really looks like silk, and since it means silk, I wouldn't use it. Might be cool for a character name though. I've never seen it, Silke Rose sounds neat in a comic book kinda way :)

I've never heard it before, but I like it. For a girl, I presume? It's really pretty.

Silke Reine (stick with the German theme)

    Silke Violet

    Silke Josephine

    Silke June

A names a name. If they are in the US and go to school, then at least this person will not have 4 other Silke's in the same class.

Unless you live in Germany where this is a highly recognizable name, it will be CONSTANTLY mispronounced as just "silk".

Although it is a pretty name, it's always annoying for kids when their name isn't said how it looks. For example, I once knew a girl named Alice, but it was pronounced like Elise. She was CONSTANTLY correcting people, and she hated it!

    But it's a nice name.

Yeah, when I looked at it I thought it was just a misspelling of silk and in fact, it is silk in another language. To me, it wouldn't make a good name.

I had a friend called like that, I think it is a pretty name but unless everybody around you speaks German, avoid it or people will make a real massacre of it and make it sound so silly you will regret it.

It's kind of strange.. I've never seen it before. To me, it sounds too much like 'silk' to be a name. Sorry.

Different not really my style. Maybe for a middle name like:

    Kathryn Silke

    Danielle Silke

Also what does ⓣⓞⓑⓟ mean it's the second time I've seen it.

Everyone would think it was pronounced Silk. Never seen it, don't like it.
