is there any way to prevent getting sea sickness?
I'm going on a cruise in march and it will be my first time! I'm not sure how i'll react to being out in the middle of the ocean
Also, how likely is it that I'll swell up? i have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis so its pretty common for me when the air changes.

I have been on several cruises and on some, the seas were very rough and the ship did toss and roll quite a bit. Seasickness has not ever bothered me or my wife but some people did get seasick. Take some candied ginger root (available at any health food store) and chew on it. Not only does it taste great, it is supposed to relieve nausea. Some people wear the Trans-Scope patch behind an ear. It works but dries the mouth and makes a person sleepy. There are also the wrist bands that some people say work wonders. Dramamine makes a person sleepy. I would say to go with the ginger root. Have a good cruise.

I don't know about the swelling, but sea sickness really depends on the person, there are many ways in which one can prevent it and/ or treat it for example probably the best in you case to try would be a motion sickness travel band it is simply a band you wear around your wrist and operates by using acupressure which is non chemical with no side effects, other wise there are many medications you can take to help.another idea is ginger lollies and sugar coated ginger depending if you are stopping in other countries as this may not go through quarantine but it is really good for nausea. have a good trip.
