One of the most common mistakes that young guys make is NOT getting their face HOT enough. Try using a face cloth soaked in HOT water, to soften the whiskers. THEN use aloe gel, instead of a regular shave cream, to get the face really slick. Aloe is so slick that you won;t get razor drag.

Remember to shave slowly, and pay attention to the direction that you are shaving. Do the neck up and down, then side to side, from ear to chin. Slowly. If you get razor burn it is because you didn't get it hot enough, didn't use the aloe gel and went too fast.

Last thing, use a multi blade shaver. Bic makes a 3 blade disposable that is not expensive, but does a good job. Toss it after 5 days, and use a new one .

Wash your face with cold water after you are done, to close your skin pores, and then apply a SMALL amount of after shave. A few drops in your palm is enough.

If you have oily skin, buy a skin cleaner, and use it before you shave, to get the oil and dead skin cells off of your face, before you shave it.

If you really want to treat yourself, go to a old fashioned " Barber Shop " and ask for a hot towel and shave. A good barber will show you how to improve your own technique at home, by his method and the sequence of how he shaves you. A great investment, and the feeling afterwards is worth $100.

Now you know why millionaires don't shave themselves , they pay a barber to do it for them.
