Why the computer shutdown itself sometimes and can be able to open after a short while?

Overheating - blow the heatsinks out

if the cpu fan is clogged it will shut down until cool.

same with the power supply unit, it could be clogged.

if the power supply is not a high enough wattage it will overheat and shut down until cool.

recently i suffered this problem....the only different thing was..i was able to run my pc not more than 20 seconds....whn it starts up it shows, messge tht..previously shutdown due to thermal heating....and than later on..my pc didnt work...even the processor fan was not working...

i brought a new processor fan now....and my engineer had done something with my motherboard...now its working proper....

check your fan speed in BIOS....it can be because of thermal heating...and also clean your CPU..fan..etc..the full CPU and dont be lazy...

Overheating, viruses, bad memory, memory not inserted properly, faulty power supply, low wattage of power supply, dirt, Faulty video card, fault in mainboard, bad HD, Overheating, overheating, getting too hot, CPU overheating, dirty causing overheating, fans not working causing overheating. or maybe overheating.

because your CPU got over heated and self savety system shutting down the computer to cool off.
