Can I get a little help?
I am giving a talk next week in church on priorities. I was thinking of using an example from management class I took a few years ago. We were given a list of items and told to rank them in order of importance of what you would need if you were stranded on a life boat in the ocean. I can't find that list. Anyone know where I can find a copy of it?
Thanks

the only one I can think of is 'The Lifeboat Game:' where the skills of survival are used to determine who you keep on the boat......
A passenger liner is wrecked at sea and these 15 people find themselves together in a lifeboat - which can only support 9 people. so 6 must be eliminated or everyone will die. If you were in command of the lifeboat, who would survive?
the passengers ---
1. A GP doctor. addicted to drugs, very nervous, age 60
2. A black protestant minister, age 27
3. A prostitute, no parents. she is an excellent nurse and has already saved a drowning child. aged 36
4. A male criminal/charge murder. He is the only one capable of navigating the boat. aged 37
5. A man mentally disturbed, who carries important government secrets in his head, aged 41
6. A salesman. He sells automatic washing machines. Member of the local Rotary Club. Aged 51.
7. A crippled boy, paralyzed since birth. He cannot use his hands, or do anything for himself, so must be fed by others. Aged 8.
8. A married couple. He is a construction worker, who drinks a lot. Aged 27. She is a housewife with two children at home. Aged 23
9. A Jewish restaurant owner married with three children at home, aged 40.
10. A teacher considered one of the best in Essex! Aged 32.
11. A Catholic Nun. Supervisor of girls school, Aged 46.
12. An unemployed man, formerly a professor of literature. He has a great sense of humour, showed courage in the last war, and was in a concentration camp for three years, aged 53.
13. A married couple deeply in love, but no children yet. Both Irish. He is studying to be a pharmacist. Aged 24. She is a housewife, helps with a playgroup. Aged 21.
prob not what you wanted - but there are the basic survival skills - there's a lesson the boyscouts have on how order of completion may effect chances of survival.

Wow, instead of using a management class and a list, how about reading the Bible and asking God to tell you what you should talk on at Church - what doe He want you to say. Remember, it is not you talking, it should be His Spirit. It is not you that they chose for this talk, God chose you so say what He wants you to say and I bet it will be from His Words in the Bible?

I'd strongly suggest you pick up the Bhagvad Geeta and make your talk really meaningful. I'd google it for a free downloadable '.pdf ' version (from the site 'internet sacred texts archive') or I would call up ISKCON to have one mail ordered.
Its a good thing....trust me.

I've got an idea..and it's not a deliberate attack here, it's actually good advice.
Put your family and loved ones before god and the church. If you really want to do god's work and spread his love, start with the people who love and most likely depend on you. I have seen way too many people neglect their families, especially their children, because "god needs them."

Great cleavage.
googling "questionnaire for life values" generates about 22,100,000 responses in about 0.29 seconds.
Good luck to you.

Just tell them to pray to God, see how that works out for them, lol.Funny how believers swear that prayer actually works, yet they just don't have much faith when their life is on the line.
