Warranty on Cook ware?

In November of 1978 I purchased an extremely expensive set of cook ware that came with a lifetime warranty. I have used this cook ware all these years, took great care of it never burned anything in any of the pots. Recently I noticed that the seams around the bottom edges are beginning to come loose. I still have my receipts and the warranty, but the company will not honor their guarantee.

Any suggestions on what I should do, and do you think I am unreasonable to expect them to honor their warranty?

Update:

This cookware came from a very well known store the warranty states that if for any reason it fails (except the handles) they will replace if with comparable merchandise. The manager of the store told me he had never k nown anyone to keep receipts and records for so long. He also made a comment that I seem to have already lived a life time, thus the warranty should have expired years ago.

I am contacting the manufacture for help on this one.

You could try going to the store where you made the purchase.

What exactly does the warranty state? There are some exclusions with some warranties that make the warranty almost worthless.

You could try contacting someone further "up the ladder" in the company. It is possible that someone higher up can over rule a denial.

By the way since they have denied to honor the warranty do you care to share the name of the cookware so we also may be warned?

Well that all depends on why they did not honor it. Warranties come with conditions and only cover certain things. You need to find out what the warranty covers and why they will not honor the warranty. If you feel that they declined you unjustly then you can try suing them.
