Inexpensive Visual Studio 2008 license for Independent developer?
I am a small independent developer who wants to start using Visual Studio 2008 professional to do my work. There used to be deals for smaller developers such as signing up with MSDN or getting an "expert" bundle type of license. I was wondering the least expensive way to go about getting a license outside of an ebay auction (been burned before).
Do you know of any special deals or pricing on Visual Studio 2008 professional? Thanks in advance!
by the way I develop for mobile devices too so i can't do the express editions

Microsoft has free single-language (vb, c#, c++) visual studios available. They are referred to as the Express editions. Depending on what you're trying to do, the express versions may very well have all the features you need.
