What do you think you were born to do?

I think I was born to be a nurse. I worked as a nurse for nearly 40 years before retiring and never didn't like it.

Every day offered a chance to learn something new (that you'd actually use) or an opportunity to be important or kind to someone. Among other positions I worked as an ER nurse for a number of years. It's heady stuff, knowing you made a difference in someones life between the time you clocked in and clocked out.

I was lucky to work with and around some really smart people who were generous with their knowledge. I finished my career as an administrator of a large home care agency. Even though the work wasn't dramatic, like the ER or ICU, it taught me a lot about the value of listening and actually hearing what patients have to teach you.

All in all it was as good as I thought it would be when I was a little girl, pretending to take care of stuffed bears and dolls.

I have been born to warn everyone of the end of the world that is going to occur in the year 2012.
