Quick change of contraceptive?

How would I go about changing from the combined pill to the mini pill? Do I have to wait a certain length of time? Also what are the major differences? Thanks

Hi, when I was changing my pill I had to have at least one month pill-free, but it wasn't a mini pill it was just another type of combined pill. Have a look on the booklet that came with your combined pill it should say about changing over in there. Surely you're going to have to go to your GP to get the new prescription? They'll know exactly what to do ^_^

In theory, any pill can be changed if you have your week break and then start the new pill at the normal time. However, expect to feel some hormonal shifts when you do this (mood swings, cramping, potential spotting, etc) for a couple weeks/up to 2 months until your body gets used to the new pill. Also, make sure you use a secondary method of birth control for the first 2 weeks at least, I would do the first full month just to be sure.

have a one week break after your last packet and then start on the mini-pill. consult your doctor first though.
