What is a SQL Server Service Manager?

Could it be the reason my printer is not working when my computer prompts it to? It is in a balloon on the bottom right of my desktop toolbar. It says not connected. Asks for a server, and asks about services? any info is greatly appreciated!!

The SQL Server Service Manager was just a small application that sat down by the clock on servers running SQL server that allowed you to stop and start you SQL services quickly and easily. It really should not have any effect on printers or printing, etc. I believe it was just in the start up group on the server, if you didn't want to see it any more just remove it from there and it will go away on restart.

This is one of the sql server utilities. SQL Server Service Manager manages all instances of SQL Server, SQL Server Agent and MS DTC, as well as Microsoft Search and MSSQLServerOLAPService services. It provides a simple way to start, stop, or check the state of any of these services. Once you've used this application after booting the operating system, the application places an icon on the taskbar in the area of the taskbar clock. You can right-click on this icon to retrieve a menu of all the tasks that SQL Server Service Manager supports.
