What is the area of a circle with a radius of 14, please help!!?

Its not because I'm lazy, I just cant figure it out! We havent learned this yet, its bonus but I really need help!!

We have too use 22 over 7 but I dont care I just need the actual answer.

Answer gets 10 points!!

A=pi times radius squared, in case you forgot the meathod.

the radius is 14, which makes the diameter 7 if you need that.

Thank you SOSOSO much!! <3

Update:

Uh, Well the answer was 154. I put 616. Oh well, for those who care I got a 91% on my paper.

Thanks for at least trying everyone! :)

    Let pi = 22/7

    A = (22 / 7) (14 x 14)

    = (22) (14 x 14 / 7)

    = 22 (14 x 2)

    = 22 x 28

    = 616

    Source(s): Note if you have been told to use 22/7 for an estimation of pi then the two answers above are wrong!

    Circle With A Radius

  • 1 decade ago

    What is the area of a circle with a radius of 14 units

    Area of the circle = pi times radius squared

    Area = 22/7 x 14 x 14

    Area = 616 suare units

    Area of a circle, A, = pi*r^2 where r is the radius and pi = 3.1415926535...

    If you must use pi as 22/7, then

    A = (22/7)*14^2

    A = 616 square units of area (note: this is only an approximate value, since we approximated pi as 22/7)

    616 units if you use 22/7 instead of π. 196π if you use π.

    A = pi r squared

    A = 3.14 x 14 squared so that is 196

    3.14x196 = 615.44?
