Why are people misinterpreting Global Warming?

My advice would be not to let it bother you. The skeptics and deniers are few in number but they're very vocal. If you think about it, how often do you meet skeptics in real life - it's not that often. You'll find them in places like Answers as this is one of the very few places in which they can congregate.

They have no structure, no organisation, no leaders, no spokes-people, no policies, no agendas. They are, in essence, a group of unrelated, disconnected, individuals with no chance of ever forming any kind of structured opposition to global warming. The policy and decision makers, the CEO's, the multi-nationals and those who have influence pay the skeptics no heed and take their advices from climate scientists and others with the requisite credentials and experience.

They have no facts, no evidence, no science, no credibility. What they do possess in abundance is the ability to lie, cheat, manipulate, misinform, distort, misrepresent and conduct any manner of underhand, unethical behaviour in an attempt to convince themselves that global warming isn't happening.

Don't forget - global warming has only been in the public eye for 20 years and only 6% of the global population don't consider it to be a serious issue. 20 years after the dangers of smoking were announced more than half the population still considered it to be harmless.

Also, the US is unrepresentative of the rest of the world having, as it does, a substantially larger number of skeptics than any other country - I believe the figure for the US is 21% skeptics.

What we need to be very careful of is stifling constructive criticism and skepticism - this is essential for the advancement of science but I guess what you're referring to is the incessant diatribe of sewage.

Warming is a natural phenomenon caused by variations in the output of the sun and this cycle occurs over and over again.

I guess my main reason for rejecting AGW is because research shows that CO2 follows global temperature and lags warming by about 800 years. Al Gore lies about this when in fact the charts that he uses even show that CO2 lags warming by about 800 years and this is consistant. Therefore CO2 does not preceed nor can be the cause of warming, but the opposite is true; warming causes an increase in CO2 because warm weather speeds up the processes that produce CO2 naturally. In fact CO2 appears to have little or no effect on global temperatures.

Water vapor in the atmosphere accounts for about 98% of all greenhouse effect. This is why a desert is scorching hot in the day and very cold at night. Lack of water vapor in the air allows the full strength of the sun to heat the ground in the day and lack of water vapor allows the heat to escape at night and it will be very cold.

Another thing; Plants need CO2 to live and grow just the same as animals and humans need oxygen to live. Without CO2 all plantlife on the planet would die immediately. Scientists have done studies and proven that plant life will grow much faster and larger when there is higher CO2 concentrations in the air. In the past history of our planet, there have been periods when CO2 in the atmosphere was 10 to 20 times more concentrated than today.

The conclusion is that CO2

(1) is very essential to life on the planet

(2) is not responsible for warming

(3) is a by-product of warming and lags warming by about 800 years

(4) is responsible for more rapid and robust plant growth when in much higher concentrations than the current levels

(5) has existed in much higher levels than today in the Earth's past history.

Your problem lies with yourself. you seem not to accept people scepticism on global warming. They are not stupid but your suggestions is. moving people away to give you free way is not a solution you have to have proof and they have to have proof, then you have to be open to debate. if not there is no truth in what you believed since your not ready to put it to the test.

That is why so many people don't believe the warmist cause they refuse open debate and verification by peer.Anybody like you is free of it's opinions.

moving stupid people won't help, those types regularly have the desire to tell others what to do without self compliance., eg; vote casting. Whats the situation with demonstrate A? Norway, no outfits, or being confident? definitely the finished question is unrelated. yet I understand frustration.

Same reason they misinterpret evolution, natural selection, and most any other scientific idea. The people that puke irratioanlism into their brains don't understand it, so it must be the work of the devil.

Apparently it exists , but some of us don't think anything significant can be done to alter the situation in any meaningful way.

When the data is confused and false, the people will be.
