Your budget is little low for Polo!!! So either go in for Ritz or Fiat Punto!!!! However, I would recommend that if you can increase your budget a little bit then try Polo or i20!!!!

On ur budget, TATA Vista, Fiat Pundo, Hundai i20, Maruthi Swift, are the main options.

Volkswagen Polo is good one in European countries and I'm not sure about How much it's spairs cost if they need any change. On the other hand Vista, Pundo and Swift are sharing same engine in its diesel variants, this heart is donated to these cars are by fiat. Vista sharing almost all mechanical parts with Punto due to merge of fiat with tata in india. Specially engine and gear box. Swift has been sharing only the heart from fiat. On the road three of these cars are performing all most equally. But, by changing the timing ratio swift have much more peppi behaviour. If you are considering fuel efficiency Fiat is the best choice because it's directly coming from the mother's womb, and service only once in an year. Vista is good for spair parts and servicing (maruthi is also similar). Personally i suggest you Fiat Pundo, because of it's new italian style and globally accepted name. hundai i 20 is not a good choice beacuse of it's rubbish style and sluggy perfomance in diesel version

Volkswagen Polo is a premium hatch which can be compared with Honda Jazz or Hyundai i20 and the pricing will be above your budget of 5lakhs. No doubt it will be worth the wait.
