Yes, the sun obviously has a far greater influence on earth's climate and is the primary reason for the recent warming. And since the sun has shut off, the earth is now cooling, even though "scientists" are still trying to convince you that it's warming.

Global warming/climate change has just become a new religious cult based in greedy power grabbing and hopes of world domination through "climate legislation". In the past it was the religious zealots who burned the truth telling scientists at the stake today it is climate change political zealots trying to silence the truth tellers and sell the world some very expensive SNAKE OIL.

It seems global warming advocates are determined to turn logic and biology upside down. Anyone who remebers basic high school biology knows carbon dioxide is essential to plant life as oxygen is essential to human life. These two basic facts can't be separated. Only Obama-style liberals will attempt to convince us about how critical combating global warming is to the Earth's survival. As then Sen. Hillary Clinton said to Gen. David Petreaus, we must be "...willing to suspend all disbelief." I'm not willing to do so!

Global warming, or climate change, which ever they decide to call it this year, is not based on science at all. it's all based on the consensus of a few scientist who have something to gain by furthering this farce. Guess what that is? $$$$

Anyone who believes Carbon Dioxide is a pollutant should stop breathing. Since we exhale Carbon Dioxide in every breath, we are literally polluting the atmosphere. So stop breathing and reduce your carbon footprint, or say NO to cap and trade & the whole global warming hoax.

We can't project an accurate forecast a week in advance and yet we say that we're doomed in the future? I believe in eliminating waste and keeping things clean so that I, and my family, can safely enjoy the outdoors but I also know where the comforts of life come from and that is manufacturing that uses energy and supplies that are either grown or mined somehow. Follow the research grants and see what is being pushed.

I have a simple question I would like someone to answer for me, If the specific gravity (relative density) of air is 1.00 and the specific gravity (relative density) of CO2 is 1.5189, that means CO2 is heavier than air and settles on the Earth's surface where green plants need it. How then can CO2 be in the Earth's upper atmosphere and stratosphere trapping the Sun's rays and heating up the planet? Anybody? Anybody? Hello? That's what I thought.

But solar radiation (the stuff that causes heat) has been decreasing (slowly) for years. It's measured by many independent scientists, and their results agree. One study of many.

This is one of many denier arguments that DEMANDS that all the scientists of the world be idiots, who wouldn't consider the Sun, or liars. Serious people don't think scientists are either.

Just one with a particularly clear title. One scientist has said "The only problem with putting another nail in the coffin of "solar warming" is finding a place to put it."

This is why I love AGWers. They see a well-researched article that sheds doubt on their idea and they either say something assinine like dobbolina, or they mistakenly pretend like it has no affect on their stance like Lin. This could be the answer to your question. The answer that man has a smaller effect on GW than does other factors which we cannot control does not exactly make headline news. Nor does the truth that the temps have only increased by .7 degree in 100 years. Without death, destruction and the possible demise of our entire way of life, you can't sell news papers. This is also why the silly AGWers tend to believe that their viewpoints are in line with the viewpoints of scientists, when in fact most scientists do not accept the lies told by the Goracle that the seas will rise by 20 meters and runaway global warming will turn the world into a ball fo flame. Trying to instill fear with a .007 degree rise in a year and a .002 meter rise in sea level is a very difficult thing to do though.

That's a six year old article, and was made during the sunspot decline.

At the moment we're in a solar minimum, and it's likely that it will continue to get colder until sunspots re-appear.

It's interesting how those scientists work isn't it. Damaging documentary comes out against AGW, quickly publish a paper saying the Sun didn't do it, and the click your heels three times and say: "There, that ought to settle the debate". Magical stuff really.

There is no question that changes in solar activity influences climate on Earth. However, as measured by satellites, there's been no increase in solar activity over the past few decades. Any correlation between solar activity and global warming ended during the 1970's.

The author of the study also argues that, "[global] warming is being amplified by gases from fossil fuel burning[1]." Mankind has no control over solar output, but we do have control over greenhouse gas emissions. There's no question that increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases trap heat close to the planets surface. To continue to release CO2 into the atmosphere will contribute to global warming. This is one variable that do do have control over.

You did hear about it "Johnny-come-lately." The article is from 2004. The problem is, you're recycling your arguments as if scientists have ignored them. Read the article again and if you don't see the mention of CO2 warming, you're blind.
