Is it legal for an insurance company to reset your annual deductible more than once a year?

This is in Washington State. Can the annual deductible be reset in November and then again in January. This process repeats and gets reset again the following November.

The Bush Regime made it possible for an insurance company to do just that. Don't blame me. I did not vote for Bush

Yes, I would agree that it sounds like the plan is a calendar year deductible (which resets every January), but they're changing the plan in November which would also reset the premium. If this is your employer then they should set their renewal for January..... Insurance companies tend do not do things that are illegal AND George Bush did not work for any insurance companies in Washington State so I'm pretty sure he had nothing to do with it.

Not exactly - if your EMPLOYER sets it up, so that November is their renewal date, AND they elect that the deductible resets in January, then yes.

The guy who picks the policy, gets to pick how the deductibles work. Sounds to me like this is a group policy through your employer - and they're changing plans every November - the annual renewal date - AND resetting the deductible every CALENDAR year.

Your beef is with your employer - they need to change the anniversary date of the group health insurance to January 1st, so this doesn't keep happening.
