Has this member of Congress actually "hit the nail on the head" about Obama's eligibility to be president?

Deal Challenges Obama’s Eligibility

FIRST TIME IN U.S. HISTORY THAT A SITTING PRESIDENT’S ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONED BY MEMBER OF CONGRESS

by P. Patriot

Nathan Deal, U.S. Representative for Georgia, is running for Georgia Governor in 2010.

(Jan. 5, 2010) — The Post & Email can publicly confirm that on the first of December, last, U.S. Congressman Nathan Deal (GA-R) challenged the eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of the U.S. presidency.

Todd Smith, Chief of Staff for Representative Nathan Deal of the United States House of Representatives serving Georgia’s 9th district, has confirmed today that Deal has sent a letter to Barack Hussein Obama requesting him to prove his eligibility for the office of President of the United States of America. The letter was sent electronically the first of December 2009 in pdf format, and Mr. Smith said that Representative Deal has confirmation from Obama’s staff that it has been received. The letter did not have additional signatories. It originated solely from Representative Deal.

Now, what does this mean? This is probably the first time in 233 years of American history that a sitting member of the House of Representatives has officially challenged the legitimacy of a sitting president….one full year into his term.

This forever changes the public discourse.

Even if the putative president ignores the challenge, he cannot hide from it, because by doing so he admits his guilt through silence. The question has to be asked near and far, why would a president who has promised greater transparency than any previous administration pay upwards of $2,000,000 of taxpayer money to hide documents that could resolve the matter once and for all time for the cost of $20.00. He has publicly admitted on more than one occasion that his father was NOT an American citizen. This alone disqualifies him from eligibility based on Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution, and consequently makes him a usurper.

Representative Deal, understanding full well the magnitude and gravity of the situation and recognizing that it places our country in a national security crisis, has rightfully confronted the issue head-on. The ramifications are so serious that all laws signed by a putative president are null and void, and soldiers sent into war under his command can be tried as war criminals.

Representative Deal is not a “Birther”; rather, he is a “Truther”; one of the millions of others who have been seeking irrefutable proof for over a year and a half!

Not a single lawsuit to date has been decided on the merits of the case, with numerous cases yet to be resolved or dismissed.

Update:

warren v: Of course I expect it to be deleted. But I've gotten some great comments so far. That matters to me. There are so many of us on the "right" page, it makes me feel so good!!!!!! And obviously there is something to this. Will it go much further? Probably not! Unfortunately!

Update 2:

bengalcliff: It bothers me that our Constitution is not being followed. Doesn't that bother you? And it has been used and abused by both parties, but, for the highest office in the land, this pi**es me off no end. The arrogance of B.O. getting away with something like this is ridiculous. As is he!

There is one case, very unpublicized, about to go to a hearing in Ohio I believe. A private citizens group has filed a lawsuit, seeking a Court ordered demand for Obama to produce a "valid" birth certificate. Obama hired an elite attorneys office to have the case dismissed, but the judge refused.

What's interesting about this one, is the certificate that Obama DID present for official records.......

his web page. Seems there is an "error" ON this document, that simply could NOT have been transposed or accidental, "for the time" of its issuance, 1961.

It simply boggles the mind with the amount of money, hundreds of thousands of dollars Obama has paid attorneys to keep his "records", especially ALL his school documents, from being viewed publicly.

Most folks think that this is related to his birth certificate. It's not. He received a Fulbright scholarship that is usually awarded to "foreign students" to attend law school. At the time he received it, he was holding an Indonesian passport which are only given to Indonesian citizens. Most "truthers" believe that is the real reason that the Obama has kept his college records sealed so no one will find this out. The birth certificate issue is just a smoke screen to make everyone look like they are morons for pursuing his past records. This guy is a lot more dangerous than most people think. Just read the Obama's books and it will scare you about his belief system.

I'm definitely not an Obama fan but this supposedly is the "proof" of Obama's citizenship. Am I positive that it's correct, no. Wikepedia and Snopes are fans of Obama and may be furthering their agenda.. I'm not sure, but, here it is anyway.

No, he is just repeating ridiculous AM radio lies and conspiracy theories because he knows enough Republicans are uneducated and ignorant enough to believe them. He knows it's not true - he just doesn't care.

The proper authority for determining eligibiilty to run and be elected is the Commission on Election. If the "Big" Deal from Georgia, a state that really should have been allowed to secede, wants to waste his time and tax payers money writing letters to President Obama, that is fine, but the President has ZERO obligation to dignify the letter with a response, as the election commission has already determined he was eligible. Stop wasting time being a hater, and get on board the hope for a better future train, it is really a nice place to be.

One additional point, you state that simply because his father is not a U.S. citizend he is not qualified to be president, but look at Article 2 Section 1 that is below, and there is absolutely NO reference to the requirement of one's father to be U.S. citizen. So stop spreading your lies.

Section 1 creates the presidency. The section states that the executive power is vested in a President. The presidential term is four years and the Vice President serves the identical term. This section originally set the method of electing the President and Vice President, but this method has been superseded by the Twelfth Amendment.

Qualifications. The President must be a natural born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years old and a resident of the United States for at least 14 years. An obsolete part of this clause provides that instead of being a natural born citizen, a person may be a citizen at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. The reason for this clause was to extend eligibility to Citizens of the United States at the time of the adoption of the Constitution, regardless of their place of birth, who were born under the allegiance of a foreign sovereign before the founding of the United States. Without this clause, no one would have been eligible to be president until thirty five years after the founding of the United States.

The one thing I agree with you on is how awful it is when the constitution is not being followed, and this was never in history more evident than in the last 8 years of the Bush administration. But there is nothing against the constitution in having Obama eligible for office, as I clearly pointed out with the relevant article and section noted above. Too many times people, and it sounds like you are one, though I don't wish to jump to conclusions, get caught up on spewing rhetoric and forget about facts. At least, as you pointed out, you have generated some lively debate. I will be voting again for Obama in 2012, at least as things are progressing now.

Just another republican congressman wasting time, and tax dollars desperately trying to keep his name in the papers, and catering to the stupidest people in the country. Deal IS a birther, and a flat Earther, who gets his ideas from an eastern European woman who believes that the laws in whatever third world cesspool she's from, should be used here to determine who is, and who isn't a citizen.

  • Yes.

Obama can short-circuit all this controversy, and discredit all those who are raising these questions, simply by releasing his long-form birth certificate . . . IF all the facts on it are as he claims them to be.

The fact that he has not tells me that something clearly is amiss.

This is how Representative Deal is wasting his time, rather than working for his constituents? Only the most rabid right-wingers are still going on about this. I'll write to him, but it sure isn't going to be supportive. What a jerk.

The fact that this is the first time someone has done this is hardly something to be proud of, by the way. It just means nobody was ever this stupid and vindictive before, and in American politics, that's quite an achievement.

Seriously, so this brain dead Birther gets to look at his birth certificate. So what? I've seen it too. BTW, there is nothing illegal about dual-citizenship, I have dual citizenship too. The only qualification is "natural born" citizen.
