One dimensional kinematics problem....?

The velocity of a diver just before hitting the water is -9.2 m/s, where the minus sign indicates that her motion is directly downward. What is her displacement during the last 1.02 s of the dive?

If solving, can you show the equations used and how you got there as well? Thank you!

    The equations of motion are simple:

    v = at, v is velocity, a is acceleration (=9.81 m/s²), and t is time

    d = 1/2 at² for constant a, t is zero when v and d are zero.

    One way to solve the problem is to determine t at the end of the dive and then calculate d at the end of the dive and at 1.02s before the end.

    v = -9.2 when t = 9.2/9.81 = 0.938s

    Houston, we have a problem. The entire dive took less than 1.02s. Reality check on this question, please.
