If you have straight hair, take a dryer sheet and smooth your hair down (dryer sheets take the static away from your clothes so why not your hair?). If its wavy or curly, what i usually do is put gel in it.

I own a hair salon in Soho NYC,,, if your hair is staticy its because your hair is not getting enough mositure-- depending where you are its winter and thats obviously why-- its dried up,,, you need to switch and use a deep conditioner after washing your hair,, and a quick fix is spraying water on your hair with a water bottle- just a little though- and DO NOT use hair spray as the ingredients in it will cause it to be even more staticky

My hair gets staticky when I get to school and take my hat off (it's the faux fur type that absolutely hates hair). I usually pat it down and if that doesn't help, I go to the bathroom and wet my hands down, then pat it over my hair.

I heard that a deep conditioning therapy / go away-in-conditioner is powerful. additionally, i think of they make anti-static sprays... you are able to placed that for the duration of your brush and brush it by way of. Plus, what I do (it somewhat is somewhat extraordinary), is save a dryer sheet on me in the wintry climate. Run it by way of your hair and it is going to do away with the static :) Goodluck!

i read the answer about gel, hairspray and straighten....DONT! its a mess ive tried it...what i use for smooth shiny sleek hair is garnier fructis shine spray it works good and it only takes a few sprays (not real close to your hair though,,hold it away when you spray or it will be oily)and its cheap its only like 4.00 a bottle @ walmart!
