All kidding aside, there's nothing wrong with. You go to prom with someone you enjoy spending time with, and if you enjoy spending time with your sister or cousin, go for it.

It's perfectly acceptable. People usually do this if they were unable to find a "date" to the prom in time. It's not an actual date, of course. It's not like they are doing anything that is incest such as kissing. The relative is just there to accompany them so they don't have to go alone.
