1970's f100 transmission?

i am trying to find a transmission for a 302 engine and i was wondering which is better a c4 or c6 give me some information on each if you would please because i want the best for my truck i am planning to put the engine in a 1970's truck thanks

    Go with the C6, as it is the stronger design from Ford. Just make sure you get one with the correct bell housing bolt pattern. I think Ford had 2 different block designs that could both get to the 302 displacement number.

    the c4 is your standard version for car or truck.

    the c6 is your heavy duty version found generally in trucks.

    It all depends on what you have in mind for the truck.The c6 is much heavier.
