I need articles on Discrimination / Predjuice in medical profession?

I can tell you a brief story about how I felt discriminated against at a doctors office.

I went to a local health-care center. It was a place where I could of gotten an affordable health-care. All they asked is for a $15.00 donation and I wouldn't been turned away if I could not afford it.

Anyways... The doctor kept on asking me if I was sexually active, did drugs, and if I drank alcohol. It's like he didn't believe me. Just because I am poor doesn't mean I do substance abuse, nor am I a sexual active person.

It makes me believe that people who go into these clinics are not treated with respect. Poverty is a sad thing. Though treating someone like crap because of my income is discriminating.

I found a non-profit agency that helps pay for my future doctor visits at another doctors office. Since then there has been a bit of discrimination, but I am treated with respect through this other group of doctors.
