SOME Muslims like to say..?

"We" love death more than "you" love life. Couple of questions about this..

Who is "we"?

Who is "you"?

If this statement is soo true why do you get so mad when others help you achieve what you love so much? Shouldn't you be thankful to them since you love it so much? Or is it you love it when you control when it happens (which doesn't happen to most people) and you can inflict as much pain as possible when you bring about what you love so much.

Im just wondering. Think about it seriously, its a really good question after you get over your obligatory outrage.

Update:

I am not a Troll...could one person answer please?

Update 2:

Marwan, excellent insight into the origins of that saying. Quite interesting!!! Thanks

    Chelle Belle,

This statement is famous for being said by Khaled bin Waleed to the General of the Iranian Army (his name was Harmaz). In arabic is sounds so much prettier....Those muslims were particularly fearless, and to them it was either victory or death (in honour). So, even though it's well known Generals play mind games with each other during war time, Khaled bin Waleed meant that "we" muslims have something to look forward to after death while "you" Persians don't believe in such things, and so you cling to life.....hence, we love death more than you love life.

The only affect it had on Harmaz was it caused him to call for back up military from the Emperor of Iran. With fresh soldiers helping him, the Persian army, aka Iran, felt comfortable enough against Khaled bin Waleed's 18,000.

Harmaz came out to battlefield clapping his chest, but before anyone realized what happened, Khaled bin Waleed struck him dead...it was so sudden. The Persians panicked and ran...it's a helluva thing to watch your general die right away... who could blame them.

This was how the muslims entered Iraq and Iran.

p.s. when people say it now, it's just coz they think it sounds cool, I don't even think they know were it comes from.

p.p.s I don't know much about bin Laden, but if what they say about him is true, then he's nothing but a punk coward so....I put him up there with George Bush for human rights violations. I think they'd make great cell mates in prison.

Salam I as a muslim do not like to say that I love death than life but I love life and also death because I realize that all creatures will die on certain time in the future. I should prepare for akheerat life just like tomorrow I will die and I will prepare for worldly activity just like I will live on this earth for long time.Life in reality is vey short and we could not delay the death in a second if Allah has a willingness to call us.We came from Allah and we will come back to Allah like or dislike.

We should obey to all of Allah's commands and prohibitions as stated in the qur'an and explained in the hadith if we want to live happily and safely here on this earth and in the eternal life in akheerat. after death.Akheerat could not be reached without death.

Wait. Wasn't that something similar to what Bin Laden said? "The difference between us and America is you love life and we love death."

Just because one said it, should not mean that individual should signify what the rest say. Everyone has something different to say, not all muslims are the same.

Even if you add the word "SOME", it's still seen as a stereotype, and to some it's offensive. The word some can't justify your question or hide anything.

I love how you're ignorant enough to take in account what others have to say.

You want to judge something? Study it's original source: The Quran & Sunnah.

"Muslims say this ...." & "Muslims say that...."

How about: "Allah says this..." & "Allah says that..."?

    Don't be so naive.
