Doe anyone play castlevania symphony of the night?

I was trying to find out if the hp gained per level was linear or exponential? Is there a set amount of points that each level gains you or is there a percentage gain of the amount of health you have? I ask because if you do the x-x!v''q cheat you would only lose 50 hp and in the end that is nothing, but if you gain less per level because of your starting health then it would be a limitation.

Update:

I am having no problem already flipped the castle, but I am looking if anyone knows the math.

Update 2:

you also get the alucard shield rod effect really early which is like cheating, so there are no tough bosses

You don't gain as much during the game. I only started with 10 HP but as I leveled up I was strong enough to survive. You'll be fine as long as you don't go picking hard fights from both sides, all the food and health items you get from the high luck should keep you alive (you'll need it on the hard boss fights). I did this mode for a challenge. The upside down castle will frustrate you to no end
