Teething Biscuits or other options for my 6 1/2 month old?
Hello,
I'm looking to find a good teething biscuit for my 6 1/2 month old son. I tried the Earth's Best, but they break apart into big peices, which he's not old enough to handle yet. I need something that only turns to mush and is thick enough to not break off into large chunks. Wondering if you have any ideas on a good brand, or any other options. He really enjoyed the biscuit I gave him, he loved the flavor, but I'm just very affraid that he will choke. He does have 2 teeth (bottom front), and he eats stage 2 food, but he can't chew large chunks yet. What have you used with your teething babies? I have the teething net for fresh fruits and veggies, but he's not all that crazy about it (I don't think he likes the texture of the mesh net). Any suggestions?
Thanks so much
I'm particularly looking for hard items, big enough for him to hold but not choke on. He eats fruits and veggies...I'm looking for snacks like crackers or cookies that won't break apart....I am CPR certified, I'm a pediatric Nurse!

I have given both of my sons Gerber Graduates Zwieback Toast. It holds together a lot better then the teething biscuits. It of course is very messy but doesn't break off in big pieces!

Are you sure he can't handle the bigger pieces? My 7 month old just got her 2 bottom teeth 2 days ago, and she's been eating Earth's best teething biscuits for few weeks now. I know they brake, but she either picks up the piece and continues to suck on it, or looses interest and wants another one. I also give her whole wheat toast. She makes a mess, brakes it into pieces, but when she get pieces in her mouth, she manages t chew them and swallow. Look into baby led weaning; even if you decide not to do it, maybe it will give you some ideas and calm your nerves about your baby choking.

you can feed your child any food that the rest of the family eats, but in smaller portions. reduce texture with a blender or potato masher. save some money & look in your cabinet for crackers or veggies that he can gnaw. if you believe he's in any pain, treat it. take a CPR class so that you are more comfortable.

Try diced peaches or I think Gerber makes a snack that are flavored puffs that melt in the child's mouth.
