WOULD MY DOG BE ABLE TO TELL IF MY ***** IS PREGNANT?

I know this may seem like a silly question, but can dogs sense pregnancy? My Jack Russell ***** was recently in heat and was mated with my male Jack Russell. He is now exhibiting signs similar to how he was when she was in heat. e.g wanting to be near her all the time. i know its a little early to tell but i just wondered if anyone has had similar experiences.

Also before ANYONE gets on my case about unwanted puppies, if she is pregnant i have a list of people wanting them so they will be found good homes.

Update:

To Alesi's Chi's

This IS my bitches first pregnancy.

I think that dogs know about the facts of life. Much of their behavior could be intuitive, but that doesn't mean they don't understand. Dogs are descendants of the wolf. The alpha wolves don't allow the other wolves in the pack to breed. All the wolves in the pack help take care of the new pups born from the alpha female. They either bring food for the new mother, babysit or bring back food later when the pups are a bit older. They obviously understand what is going on why wouldn't our dogs?

Well what makes you think your male JRT would want to be around your female JRT if she was pregnant? Certainly not because you think he is getting some sort of "fatherly" instinct or something like that, right? Because it is quite the opposite - in fact if your female JRT ends up being pregnant, keep your male far far away from those puppies once they arrive.

That's great that you have a list of people with "good homes" for the puppies.

Did you make sure to get all their genetic health testing done before you bred them so you could ensure all those "good" people that they are getting quality healthy pups and are not going to be prone to any genetic health issues? OFA testing or anything like that?

You b*tch should have been spayed after her first *false* pregnancy. Only breeders with great reputations and quality, proven dogs with health testing have waiting lists. 99% of the people you say, or think are waiting for your puppies won't be anywhere to be found when they're ready to go to new homes. Hopefully this is another false pregnancy and you'll have the sense to spay her BEFORE she gets pyometra
