  • WOULD MY DOG BE ABLE TO TELL IF MY ***** IS PREGNANT?

I know this may seem like a silly question, but can dogs sense pregnancy? My Jack Russell ***** was recently in heat and was mated with my male Jack Russell. He is now exhibiting signs similar to how he was when she was in heat. e.g wanting to be near her all the time. i know its a little early to tell but i just wondered if anyone has had similar experiences.

Also before ANYONE gets on my case about unwanted puppies, if she is pregnant i have a list of people wanting them so they will be found good homes.

  • Both my dogs love to lick me!?

Whenever i am sat down with them, both my dogs start to lick me . It's usually on the arms or hands. Is this just a sign of affection or is it a 'pack leader' sort of behaviour?

  • Breeding my Jack Russells?

I have a female and a male who are both healthy and when she reaches 18 months I would like her to have 1 litter of puppies before having her spayed. Can anyone give any SENSIBLE advice. I did recently think that she was pregnant and took her to the vet to confirm this but the vet says that it is a phantom pregnancy which i am very relieved at because she was too young. I don't see her as a puppy machine and I must point out that her health will come first. I just want her to have the 1 litter before we spay her.

  • Why do people get on their soapbox about breeding "mutts"?

I know I'm probably going to attract a lot of people who want to "have a go" but if a person chooses to breed their dogs then it is their choice. This site is set up to offer advice and help NOT to point out if a person can't spell or show snobbery that only "the best bloodlines of dog" are allowed to be bred from.

  • My dog has an irritaion around the eye.?

His eyes are all red and swollen. I have had a look and there doesn't seem to be anything in his eyes. I have already booked an appointment to see the vet but is there anything I can do to ease things for him? At the moment i am bathing round his eyes with a weak saltwater solution.

  • My Jack Russell ***** is having a phantom pregnancy. What's the best way to get her through it?

The vet told me she will get sad when she doesn't actually produce a litter of puppies. Has anyone ever been through something similar?
