I think shouldn't loose your focus,but at the same time learn to become friends with a female first. Since you know your desperate IT should definitely wait until your truly ready maybe after marriage...There are a lot of risk involved.

Around you with your friends introducing you to some of her friends. Or another trick, take some salsa lessons, its always 3 girls for 1 guy and you'll have plenty of opportunities there..
