Hiding behind the anonymity of the internet?
I've been accused of hiding behind the anonymity of the internet a few times lately. It surprised me as I act no different here compared to face to face conversations. If confronted with hostility, ridicule or condescension, I reply in kind. If approached with respect and honesty, I also respond in kind.
Q1: Does anyone actually use their anonymity to answer differently than they would face to face?
Q2: Would the atheists here allow their family and friends to see their Q&A from R&S?
Q3: Would the theists here allow their family, friends and pastor/priest/etc. to see their Q&A from R&S?
I figured I should answer my own questions. :D
1. No, at least not that I am aware of.
2. Yes, my responses here are nothing my friends and family haven't heard before.
3. n/a

I'd say I'm pretty much the same face to face. I say pretty much because I don't encounter much hostility IRL. However, IRL I'm also very blunt, open, and honest, it's a part of my personality; I have nothing to hide.
But sometimes it's easier to say things you normally wouldn't say on the internet, or even in IM's or text messages with people you know and see on a regular basis. It's because you have more time to think about what you want to say, before you say it. But I think that's obvious.
Q1: No. If someone is rude, I have no problem being rude back. If it's an intelligent debate, I answer the same: with intelligence and without hostility.
Q2: I wouldn't really care if they did
Q3: Does not apply

Q1. How I act on here is how I act in real life.
Q2. However...I wouldn't allow my family to see my Q&A because they are all fundamentalist christians and if they found out I am atheist then I would be excommunicated from them most likely.
Q3. I love this question btw.

I have no problem with anyone seeing my Q&A. I have always tried to be completely myself and honest and sincere. Am I perfect? No. Do I feel a little bolder here than in person? Probably at times.
