My 2 cousins are bartending my wedding. How much should I pay them?

We are having Keg beer, 4 different kinds of wine, and liquor (rum, vodka, and whiskey). We will also have pop, water, and different drink mixers.

I read somewhere that bartending company's requires there to be one bartender per 75

people attending. Lets say there are three bartenders they pay each

a base pay of $25/hour + a 20% gratuity on the total beverage check to be

split three ways of course. In this case cancel the 20 % gratuity as the tips will go directly into there packet ; )

The lucky couple have already paid for a certain dollar amount of drinks but

everything must still be rung up on a check for inventory purposes. Lets say

the party drinks $3000 worth of booze. Lets also say that they worked for 5

    hours.

    Hourly wages = $125

    Gratuity split = $200

Total per cousin is - 200. gratuity split $125. Hope this helps

You need to check the licence for the premises and for the staff. You usually need a licence holder on the premises at all times (in England, in pubs) but I don't know the rules for private parties. As far as wages go, bar work is rubbish and a barmaid rarely expects much over minimum wage, so it's really up to you to decide how generous you feel!

    NOTHING

depending where you are, to have someone bar tend for free is legal and safe

if they are paid, there are licenses that are possibly needed, and they might be held liable if someone they served alcohol to gets injured or arrested.

whenever there is money & alcohol involved the government usually starts getting involved, i wouldn't risk it.
