Will someone please help me?

Question

I am getting really frustrated with my guitar. I know how to play the chords A, Am, C, D, Em, and G. But when I try to play a song, I can't figure out how I am supposed to strum. I am getting really frustrated. Is there any site anywhere with free guitar lessons that I could use?

Hello there,

Here are a couple lessons on strumming. Maybe these will help you.

This guy discusses how to use the pick correctly when strumming.  Many beginners really do not hold the pick right.

And here is a link to a lesson at Youtube.  This is the guy's strumming lesson.  He has a series of 12 lessons there.  Some of the other lessons may interest you.  He uses an electric guitar in the lessons, but most of the material translates well to the acoustic.
