Is it possible to play World of Warcraft on a plane? Is the Internet good enough?
I have a 4 hour flight to Colorado Sunday, and I know many planes have wifi (I never paid for it before because my flights lately have been under 2 hours, so it's not worth it)
Anyway, is the Internet on planes good enough to play WoW?

While I haven't experienced "SkyFi" (or whatever you call in-flight WiFi)... I'd have to say NO for WoW.
The main reason is that you're most likely have to deal with MASSIVE LAG & possible bottlenecks that would make it unenjoyable for you. Other, less demanding internet activities (streaming audio / video, single-player online games, ect.) would likely work OK.
HOWEVER, before you fire up WoW, visit these 2 websites to help figure out how good the connection you're on is.
* Speed Test -- http://www.speedtest.net/ -- This site will test how FAST your connection is by testing the down & upstream. Please be aware that on the plane, your bandwidth will be shared amongst other passengers, so the measurements may be lower than anticipated.
If you can get about 512 KBps (0.50 MBps) both ways, you should be good. You could get by with less, but you'll have longer loading times.
* Ping Test -- http://www.pingtest.net/ -- This site will test how STABLE your connection is by doing a packet test, test your ping time & your "jitter" (variance in ping) for your connection.
If you can get at least a C here, you should OK... but you'll ideally want to get a B or better on your Ping Test.
For these test, use Los Angeles, California for your test server to get accurate numbers for World of Worldcraft purposes.
If you get good scores on both (especially on the Ping Test), go ahead & play WoW... otherwise, blow your time elsewhere online during your flight. This may not be the best answer available for you, but it's a good way for your find out for yourself.
UPDATE: Seems that connection speed may not be an issue, but lag would still a concern... so you'll still want to a ping test before you hop on WoW.

if you can do lots of high tech things on your phone on a plane, you shuld be able to play wow. you might lagg a little, but hopefully not alot. make sure you play after the pilot givs you the all clear for electrical divises. so yeah i think you be able to play wow pretty well on a plane. but its only 4 hrs. but i would play wow too.

You might be able to depends on the bandwidth, you might just have to try it.
