well USB devises are designed to work with any system as long as the drivers are available...

possible reasons of the devices not working could be...

    1.)A poor USB port

    2.)Unavailable drivers

are you both using same version of windows 7 ( i mean 32bit or 64bit ) coz not all drivers will be available in both versions by default...

nicely see in case you will come across a sparkling driving force for the cardboard reader on the manufacturers internet site. that's a driving force situation. See in hardware supervisor if there's a gadget with an exclamation component when you PLUG IT IN! Uninstall that driving force and the unplug and restart. Then attempt back.

When you put more then one USB into your computer, It stops recognizing something being put into the computer. Restart your computer. wait at least 10 minutes. THEN put your USB in.
