Should all Hollywood movies feature at least 1 person of color in it?
This movie was made by "first look studios" in 2003. They have an office in Culver City CA. I would like to know why in year 2003 this movie was filmed with not a single person of color on the view screen? Could there by some type of bias here? I don't know how this could have possibly happen considering that the movie was filmed in year 2003 after all the race riots and affirmative action. Plus the movie takes place in Chicago which is a diverse city of all nationalities. How could this happen? Is it bias? Is it prejudice or quite possibly ::gasp:: "racism"?
I also wanted to note that the company insignia is a square which is a shot of a Caucasians blue eye wide open with fair skin. I would have to say that this is suggestive of white supremacy. But it is all subliminal.

no, was there a roll for someone of color in the storyline. what the story consists of is how the writter
wrote it and what its about. if the story is about swedish fishermen, there isn't going to be any people
of color in it. if the story is about eskimos there won't be any white people in it. what's the name of the
film? film co's get stories from screen writers they don't make up the characters, just the film. would

I would think this was up to the screenwriter and director. Suppose someone wanted to do another version of "lord of the Flies" which is based on a novel by William Golding about a group of British prep school students in the 40s stranded on a Pacific Island. There were no students of color at prep schools at that time. Why would the film include one. I once auditioned the play "Juno and the Paycock" which takes place in Dublin in 1920. Why would I cast a person of color when there are none in the story?

what? Seriously?
Ever stopped to think maybe the casting call did not receive one "person of color" as you so rainbowily stated at their hiring hall? Maybe the film was filmed in a state with a low population to begin with, like Montana or Wyoming?
Let's stop the reverse racism before it even starts. It's all on you. Only you can change your response to others actions. Please get over yourself before the train hits the tunnel, you might get decapitated unless your arms and legs are contained within the car.
And no I do not believe that all movies should have a percapita quota to fuilfill. That's even more insulting. Not hiring because of skill but because someone lobbied the government to get involve with the entertainment business.
Jesus Christ what's next? Having Government regulate how many persons of color can own a gold Impala?

Nu Image is the parent company with a controlling interest in First Look Studios.
Nu Image is a full service production company and distributor servicing both domestic and international markets. We offer a wide variety of films. A large portion of our library is dedicated to the Action and Thriller genres.
As an emerging studio, we also produce a large portion of the content we offer.
The foundation of our company began in 1986, when Avi Lerner founded the Nu Metro Entertainment Group, the largest entertainment company in South Africa. Nu Metro owned and operated 35 theatre locations with a total of 140 screens. It was later sold.
In 1992, Lerner moved to Los Angeles and founded Nu Image together with Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Danny Lerner.
In 1996 Nu Image formed Millennium Films to address the market’s growing need for quality art films and higher budget action features, while Nu Image continued to cater to the lucrative world home video market. Between the two divisions, over 100 films have been produced since 1992.
Nu Image and Millennium Films continue to grow, with the company producing more than 20 pictures annually. Currently, many of our latest films feature top box office stars and find releasing through major motion picture studios.
