Java Certification - Which should I do (SCJA and/or SCJP)?

I will be made redundant at work in about 3 weeks and would like to become a Java programmer as my next job.

I have some experience of Java, VB6, SQL programming from my current job, but not enough Java experience to go for a Java specific job.

I know a Java certification would look good on my resume but I'm not sure whether I should bother with the SCJA certification first (to get the basics of Java, UML, J2EE, etc) or go directly to the SCJP certification.

If I did the SCJA I would then study for the SCJP afterwards.

Any advice?

Thanks,

James

From your simply state i think you can go directly to the SCJP certification, also it's not a hard thing for you.

If you want to make sure you can get SCJP certification in the first attempt, come to passcert
