Will a Honda 97 Civic LX head fit on a 97 Civic DX Motor?

I have a 1997 Honda Civic DX. It has had overheating problems. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, plugs, wires, distributor and such. Radiator seems to be fine so I am not replacing that. I cant tell if the head gasket is blown. The car itself runs fine, poor starting aside(water is getting into the cylinders) Or if the head itself is cracked/warped or something. I can get a LX head for cheap so I figured id ask if it would fit & see if anyone has any suggestions of stuff that may fix it. (Overheating, bad starting but that's from water getting in the cylinders which id imagine is from the head and/or valves)

You most likely are dealing with a head gasket issue--save the money on a diff head and pull the one off your car and spend $40.00 and send it to a machine shop and have it milled and pressure checked. These heads dont just crack unless there is a time you have not mentioned that this motor has been overheated. If you get it pressure checked they can tell you if it is cracked. Get with a local garage and they can direct you to a machine shop that will check these issues. So send your head out and buy an upper end gasket kit(advise to buy at least an OEM headgasket if you choose to go aftermarket on the others)!!!!
